Haring was very much a pop culture artist of the 1980s. (I do wonder at times what the BBC losing competent arts journalists is doing to its coverage of art). Mr Doodle's artwork seems to focus more on what look like kiddy cartoon characters - BUT the style of drawing is very, very similar. In fact, it looked very much to me as if he's trying to emulate the style of Keith Haring (1958-1990) - minus the homoerotic / sexual aspects of the latter's work. The BBC was treating him as if he'd invented a completely new way of creating art - which is what prompted this post. And if you want to get doodling yourself, you might want to choose from the best pens for artists.I watched a news item on BBC Breakfast TV this morning about a chap called " Mr Doodle" (his real name is actually Sam Cox). To explore the genre more, see our pick of some brilliant examples of Doodle art and some of our favourite Google doodles. Doodle House is one impressive artistic statement, and we're just waiting to see which developer bring Mr Doodle in to doodle a skyscraper of mega stadium. We have to say that at a time with so much attention being paid to the latest AI-generated digital art, it's a joy to see someone gaining recognition for one of the most primitive forms of drawing – and something that almost all of us practice even unconsciously. He later developed his own visual language or "Doodle World" densely clustered and ever-multiplying characters and patterns. Apparently, he started on his parents' furniture and school walls as a kid. Sam says his interest in doodles began at an early age, and we suspect may have got him into some bother.
